Gombe NYSC Opens Camp Court

Ado Taura Gombe State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, on Saturday inaugurated a camp court for the quick adjudication of Batch A Stream II corps members’ cases.


The inauguration was done shortly after the day’s morning meditation at the temporary orientation camp Amada, Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State.


Speaking, Imoni urged the batch to behave in conformity with accepted norms, in line with laid-down rules and regulations on camp.

Explaining further the duty of the court, Imoni reminded them that the camp being a regimented space was governed by law and order, stressing that


“The court will try erring corps members. It will not hesitate to use the provisions of the bye-laws to try erring corps members,” Imoni said while calling on them to abide by camp rules and regulations.


Imoni also announced the selection of three corps members within the batch platoon leaders to serve as camp directors, adding that it was management’s decision of carrying them along especially when making decisions.


She announced the corps camp directors to include; Idowu Akindeji David with code GM/23A/ 1278; Rey Eunice Shem, with code GM/23A/1346; and Muili Mohammed Adewale, with code GM/23A/1314.


According to her, “the inauguration of the corps camp directors will serve as a liaison between NYSC management and corps members for ease of administration".


Earlier, the camp director, Ado Taura, congratulated the 1,203 corps members on a successful swearing-in ceremony and appreciated God for the journey mercies granted to all participants to camp.


Ado Taura, also emphasized discipline, teamwork, and collective responsibility.
